New features of the ARIS Enterprise Admin license

ARIS products are rapidly evolving, and the ARIS Enterprise Admin license in version 10.0.27 has now been enhanced with new functionality, which will be covered in this article.

It is worth noting that ARIS Enterprise Admin is a new type of license that extends the functionality of ARIS Connect with administrative capabilities. This allows for flexible configuration of the ARIS repository through the web application.

The current license unlocks the following functions in the ARIS Connect administration section:

  • Conventions
  • Databases
  • Evaluations
  • Script Editor

The "Script Editor" section has recently been added to the ARIS Enterprise Administration license. The functionality of the "Conventions" "Databases," and "Evaluations" sections was covered in an earlier article titled "An ARIS Enterprise Administration license."

"Conventions" section

A new "ArchiMate Import/Export" option has been added to this section (Fig. 1). This feature enables the transfer of ArchiMate models into ARIS from other modeling tools and their alignment with the ARIS methodology. Additionally, ARIS models based on the ArchiMate methodology can be exported to other modeling tools. For imported ArchiMate files viewpoints, property definitions, and languages can be configured.

"Script Editor" section

The "Script Editor" section allows users to work with the program code for reports, macros, and semantic checks (Fig. 2 and 3).

Furthermore, the new license version introduces the ability to use XML export/import for models and groups. This functionality is available in the Repository's "Models and Objects" section (Fig. 4).

Thus, it can be said that the development of ARIS products is moving towards cloud solutions. Many options that were previously only available in the thick client ARIS Architect are now becoming accessible in the cloud solution as well, thanks to the new ARIS Enterprise Admin license.
