Incorrect display of custom symbols and connections in ARIS Connect 10.0.13 and 10.0.19
In the thick client, all user changes to the methodology are displayed correctly. However, it has been found some of the custom symbols and connections are not displayed on the diagram or are non-editable in the Repository section in 10.0.13 and 10.0.19 versions of ARIS Connect.
Custom Symbols Issue
For example, the derived symbols have been created for the "Subsystem" object type (API name OT_SUBSYS
) based on the existing "Subsystem" symbol (API name ST_SUBSYSY
). These symbols are displayed correctly in the ARIS Architect/Designer and in the ARIS Connect in the Published content section. But on the model editing page in the ARIS Connect, these symbols are displayed as inactive regardless of the model type or methodological filter used.
A similar problem is observed with the "Note" symbol (API name ST_NOTE
) of the "Note" object type (API name OT_NOTE
).

An example of the correct display of these object symbols in the thick client is shown in Fig. 2.

Connections Display Problems
Problems with the display in the ARIS Connect also appear with some types of connections. It has been found out the connections:
- "may change privileges" (API name
CT_MAY_CHG_PRIVIL
) - "may access" (API name
CT_MUST_NOT_ACS
) - "may search" (API name
CT_MAY_SEARCH
)
which are used in the Privileges diagram type, are not active in the ARIS Connect on the model editing page (Fig. 3). But these connections are displayed correctly and active in the ARIS Architect/Designer and in the Published content section in the ARIS Connect (Fig. 4). The methodological filter used in this case, as well as in the case of displaying symbols, does not affect the display of these connections.

Conclusion
The revealed problem with the display of custom object symbols and connections is a bug and it is expected to be fixed in the following ARIS versions. For example, in the ARIS 10.0.25 the problem with the "may search" connection has already been fixed and now it is active in the Repository section in the ARIS Connect.
